- 20ml aquafaba (chickpea brine)
- Ground Oreo crumbs for decoration

- Mix dairy-free milk with apple cider vinegar and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, whisk together self-raising flour, cocoa powder, caster sugar, baking powder, and bicarbonate of soda.
- Stir in the vegan buttermilk mixture and sunflower oil until just combined.
- Fill cupcake liners with batter and bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.
- Beat dairy-free butter and icing sugar in another bowl until fluffy; gradually add aquafaba for smoothness.
