Ingredients
- 2 tbsp oil or ghee
- 1 kg chuck or braising steak (cut into 3 cm cubes)
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 2 garlic cloves (peeled and chopped)
- 2 cm fresh ginger (peeled and chopped)
- ½ tsp ground turmeric
- 2 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp garam masala
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp red chili powder
- 1 cup beef broth
- ½ cup water
- 3 cm cinnamon stick
- 1 dried bay leaf
- 2 tbsp chopped cilantro (plus more to garnish)
- Salt to taste
Instructions

- In the same pan, add remaining oil and sauté onions, garlic, and ginger until softened.
