  • 2 tablespoons caramel syrup
  • 1/2 cup melted butter (cooled)
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • Sea salt (for topping)
  • Additional caramel sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, mix the mashed bananas with white sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, caramel syrup, melted butter, buttermilk, and beaten eggs until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined—avoid overmixing.
  5. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and drizzle two tablespoons of caramel sauce on top; use a knife to create swirls.
  6. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow cooling in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
  8. While still warm, sprinkle sea salt over the top and drizzle with more caramel sauce before slicing.
