- ¼ cup ketchup
- 2 cups fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, eggs, ketchup, and salt and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared dish. Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- While the meatloaf bakes, melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and sauté until golden brown. Stir in flour and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in beef broth and cook until thickened. Season to taste.
- Let the meatloaf rest before slicing and serve with mushroom gravy.
