- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup for icing
- 1 cup sifted confectioners’ sugar for icing

Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- Cream softened butter and brown sugar with a mixer until smooth. Add the egg and beat until combined.
- Mix in maple syrup, vanilla extract, and maple extract until well blended.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients followed by chopped pecans until the dough is soft.
- Chill the dough for at least 2 hours before baking.
