- 1 cup Arborio rice
- 2–3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 5–6 garlic cloves, grated
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 2 cups pureed tomatoes
- Fresh parsley
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt or to taste
- Freshly cracked black pepper
- 1/3 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried mint
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 2 cups onion broth
- Salt to taste

Instructions
- Prepare the onions by boiling them in salted water until softened. Carefully separate the layers.
- In a skillet, sauté chopped onion in olive oil until translucent. Add garlic and ground beef; season and cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato puree, then add rice and broth; simmer until rice absorbs liquid.
- Stuff onion layers with the filling and arrange them seam-side down in a baking pan.
- Mix sauce ingredients and pour over the stuffed onions before covering with foil.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 45 minutes covered and then an additional 35–45 minutes uncovered until tender.
