- 1 cup warm milk
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 1 egg (for dough)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 carrot, diced
- 3 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 0.3 lbs ground beef
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 3 cubes Japanese curry roux
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 egg (beaten, for coating)
- 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix bread flour, cake flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast.
- Heat warm milk with melted butter; combine with dry ingredients.
- Knead in one egg until smooth; let rise for about 60 minutes.
- For the filling: Sauté onion in vegetable oil, add carrot and potatoes, then ground beef until browned. Stir in soy sauce, ketchup, curry roux, and water; simmer until thickened.
- Punch down risen dough and divide into portions; roll out circles and fill with curry mixture. Seal tightly.
- Coat each bun in beaten egg and panko, then fry until golden brown.
