Ingredients
- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons warm water
- 1 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- 3 tablespoons canola oil
- 3–3¼ cups flour
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- ½ teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
- Marinara sauce (for serving)
Instructions
- In a large bowl or stand mixer, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit until foamy.
- Add salt, oil, and two cups of flour; mix until combined. Gradually add remaining flour until soft dough forms.
- Knead until smooth, cover, and let rise in a greased bowl for one hour.
- Punch down the dough and divide into 16 pieces. Shape each piece into a rope, then form bone shapes by cutting slits on each side.
- Place on greased baking sheet and let rise again for 45 minutes to an hour.
- Preheat oven to 425°F during the last rising minutes.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic salt and parmesan before serving with marinara sauce.
